the lgbt student survey 2004
The LGBTA conducts an annual survey of its membership. It allows us both to find out what we're doing right and where there's room for improvement, and what LGBT students at Durham University think of the place more generally.

The response to the question "Do you strongly agree, agree, neither agree nor disagree, disagree or strongly disagree with the statement 'Durham University is a tolerant environment for LGBT people'?" was as follows:

6% disagreed
0% strongly disagreed
So in total 79% agreed and 6% disagreed.
70% said they had never encountered any form of abuse related to their sexuality or identity while at university. The other 30% had done, although in most cases it was very minor and isolated.
